Do I need a referral from my family doctor to see a podiatrist?

Referrals are not required. While many patients are referred by their physician, a referral is not necessary. You can make an appointment directly with one of our podiatrists—you don't need a referral from your family doctor.

Who needs to see a podiatrist?

People of all ages with any foot, ankle or related problems should see a podiatrist to get high quality health care provided by our doctors. If you have foot or ankle pain, see a podiatrist first.

Are your services covered by Alberta Health Care Insurance Plan?

At Achilles Foot Clinic we offer both private and public options for surgery. Your podiatrist can explain the differences during your consultation including the difference in wait times for each option.

Are your services covered by my extended health insurance or my employer?

Many extended health insurance plans will cover a portion of costs for our services—including orthotics. We will help determine the amount you will be covered by your insurance company through a pre-approval request. 

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept cash, debit card and all major credit cards.
