Dr. Gatenby is an experienced Podiatric physician who has been practicing for 30 years.
He is the founder of Achilles Foot Clinic.
Dr. Gatenby specializes in custom orthotics to correct underlying foot pathology, ingrown nail surgery, heel and arch pain / plantar fasciitis, sports medicine, children’s foot and gait disorders, painful and stubborn warts, preventative
diabetic foot care and laser for fungal nails.
Dr. Gatenby is 1 of only 10 podiatrists in Canada to achieve Board Certified status by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine. He has also achieved Fellowship status with the American College of Foot and Ankle Orthopedics. He is an active member of the Alberta and Canadian Podiatric Medical Associations and the British Columbia College of Podiatric Surgeons.
Dr. Gatenby is well known for his expertise in treating all foot disorders with a non-surgical approach first. He is well versed in the underlying biomechanics and pathology of the foot and ankle. When surgery is warranted, he has extensive experience to help you choose the right surgeon for your specific needs.
Dr. Gatenby feels very fortunate to have found a profession he loves. He is constantly upgrading his knowledge and skills through conferences and seminars to provide you with excellent care.
Dr. Gatenby was born in Montreal. He moved to California with his family at age 14, where he discovered the field of Podiatry. After his training he moved back to Canada and settled in Calgary.
Dr. Gatenby is married and has three grown sons. He enjoys his family as well as music, hockey, golf, fishing, biking, reading and travelling with his wife Donna.
